My wife and I went to this family owned restaurant for the first time this evening. We were very impressed by the quality of the food. Djonisi was the perfect place for us as the food was flavorful without being too salty or spicy. The hummus and grilled pita was fresh and delicious. The beet salad was outstanding as was the moussaka. The service was friendly and efficient. We are looking forward to our next visit to this great restaurant.

Had a great time at Djonisi’s beautiful restaurant with my family. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the owners were wonderful with truly great customer service. The food was the best Greek food I’ve had — it honestly reminded me of coming home to my mom’s cooking. So authentic and full of flavor. If you’re in Sarasota, you’ve got to go here. One of the best places around. Highly recommend!

Family owned ,AUTHENTIC & Fresh! I loved the the HAND-MADE grape leaves! fabulous soup , amazing chicken skewers and everything was so flavorful. The low-key atmosphere great for family lunch and dinners. Clean cups & plates everything you want when you eat out and want great mediterranean food. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Our 1st time trying this place but it definitely will not be our last! We came here for Valentine’s dinner with 4 other couples. The owner, Djonisi, was our waiter & his mom and dad were in the kitchen cooking all the food. We felt like we were in their dining room at their home. We had the Tirokafteri (feta cheese dip) with pita bread, village salad, gyro platter, mousaka, & baklava. Everything was AMAZING! I highly recommend this restaurant! You will NOT be disappointed!

As soon as you walk into this restaurant, you feel like family. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and full of positive energy. The food was absolutely amazing — fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. You can tell there’s pride behind every dish and every detail. I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for authentic flavors and outstanding hospitality!

Came here with my mom & my two little ones for lunch today & the food was great! Loved the beet salad. It did take a little bit of time to get our food, but our waitress was great. Very nice restaurant with some great food!!

The rice was fantastic but I only received like 2 tablespoons. The potatoes were good with good portions and the meat was fantastic with a lot of it. Pita was phenomenal and so was the sauce. Wish I had more rice next time. Only reason not a 5 star is I feel it’s about $5 too expensive.
